Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of risk assessment and be able to make well-informed decisions on insurance policies. Your role will involve evaluating insurance applications, determining coverage limits, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze risks associated with insurance applications and create underwriting documentation.
• Communicate with clients regarding their policy terms and clarify questions.
• Review loss history and other relevant data to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.
• Regularly update internal databases with underwriting decisions and policy changes.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance underwriting knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or Insurance
• Postgraduate qualification is an advantage

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in the insurance underwriting field.

• Insurance Software Proficiency

• Time Management

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU)
• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)

Languages

• English: Fluent
