Job Description

We are looking for an insightful Underwriter to enhance our Durban office. This role requires strong analytical abilities to assess client needs, recommend suitable insurance products, and contribute to strategic risk management within the company.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client profiles to determine appropriate coverage limits.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate underwriting standards.
• Collaborate with the sales team to improve the customer experience.
• Assess market conditions and adjust underwriting criteria as necessary.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
• Implement quality assurance measures for the underwriting process.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to drive strategic initiatives.
• Prepare presentations for management on underwriting performance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field
• Master's degree will be an added advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in the insurance sector

Certifications

• National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) certification
• Specialization in Commercial Underwriting
