Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Urban Planner to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will play a vital role in city development projects, focusing on sustainable growth and community needs. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of planning regulations and will be involved in developing plans that promote efficient land use, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Assess community planning needs through research and surveys.
• Draft comprehensive urban plans that align with sustainability goals.
• Advise on land acquisition and usage for potential developments.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders and community members.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure plans are feasible and effective.
• Review and approve site plans and development applications.
• Maintain communication with local government officials and agencies.
• Evaluate the environmental impact of proposed projects.
• Assist in developing strategies for effective urban renewal.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
• Master’s degree in Urban Planning is beneficial

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in urban planning projects
