Job Description

As a Swing Type Lathe Operator, you will be crucial in setting up and operating lathes to produce high-quality machined parts. The role requires a keen eye for detail and a knack for precision engineering, ensuring all products meet stringent specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate swing type lathes to produce parts per specifications, maintaining high quality.
• Conduct quality inspections of completed parts and perform adjustments as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production management on schedules and workload balancing.
• Ensure timely reporting of any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
• Assist in setting up the machines before production runs.
• Keep accurate records of production metrics and machine performance.
• Engage in preventive maintenance and minor repairs of the machinery.
• Support cross-training efforts within the manufacturing team.
• Attend safety meetings and adhere to all operational policies.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• National Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification

Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in operating and maintaining swing type lathes in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Languages

Advantageous
