Veneer Grader

Job Description

As a Veneer Grader, you will play a critical role in assessing the quality of veneer sheets. Your keen eye for detail and understanding of compliance standards will ensure that our products consistently meet industry expectations.

Responsibilities

• Grade and sort veneers according to specifications.
• Inspect machinery and report malfunctions to the maintenance team.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior grading staff.
• Analyze grading data for trends and areas of improvement.
• Work collaboratively with the Quality Control team to enhance overall product quality.

Requirements

Education

• NQF Level 4 in Wood Technology or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in veneer grading

Technical Skills

• Numeracy Skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Operating Woodworking Machinery: Hands-on experience in operating machinery related to woodworking.
• Quality Control Experience: Experience in applying quality control measures in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Wood Technology: Understanding of wood technology principles and product specifications.
