Job Description

Seeking a qualified Insurance Underwriter to enhance our underwriting operations in Port Elizabeth. This position demands expertise in evaluating insurance applications and determining policy terms.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications and determine appropriate coverage levels and terms.
• Conduct risk assessments to establish premiums and coverage limits.
• Collaborate with brokers and clients to clarify underwriting guidelines and policies.
• Review and analyze existing policyholders’ coverage and make recommendations for adjustments.
• Stay updated on industry trends to ensure competitive practices.
• Respond to inquiries and provide customer service to internal and external clients.
• Prepare underwriting reports detailing offered coverage, premiums, and terms.
• Work alongside actuarial teams to refine risk models.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field
• Insurance designations (e.g., CII or similar) are advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in underwriting or related insurance field
