Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals overcome their challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing therapy and counseling to a diverse clientele, implementing effective treatment plans, and facilitating support groups. You will play a crucial role in promoting mental well-being and helping clients navigate their mental health journeys.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.
• Assess client needs and create personalized treatment plans.
• Facilitate psychoeducational workshops.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
• Utilize evidence-based practices in therapeutic interventions.
• Offer emotional support and guidance to clients and their families.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work
• Master's degree is highly advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mental health counseling

Certifications

• Registered Psychologist
• Child and Adolescent Therapy Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

• Experience with EMDR therapy: Familiarity in applying Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy techniques.
