Job Description

As a Tax Specialist at Tax Consultants SA, you will play a vital role in assisting clients with their tax needs, ensuring compliance with local regulations whilst identifying ways to optimize their tax situations. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting returns and providing strategic advice tailored to individual and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and corporations
• Research and analyze tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
• Advise clients on tax deductions, credits, and exemptions applicable to their situation
• Help clients resolve any tax discrepancies or audits
• Assist in the development of tax planning strategies
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on changes in tax laws and guidelines
• Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive financial advice
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Taxation is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in taxation or related field

Technical Skills

• Tax Law
• Accounting Software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks)

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Communication Skills

Advantageous

• Professional Tax Certification (e.g., CTA, CIMA): Additional qualification in taxation is highly regarded.
• Experience with tax compliance systems: Familiarity with tax compliance tools is advantageous.
