Coppersmith Helper

Job Description

As a Coppersmith Helper, your primary role is to assist the Coppersmith in the fabrication, installation, and repair of copper components. This position requires physical strength, dexterity, and an eye for detail. You will work closely with skilled artisans, gaining valuable industry knowledge as you contribute to high-quality copper fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and shape copper materials accurately.
• Support in soldering and assembling various copper fittings.
• Assist with on-site installations of copper components.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces.
• Participate in safety training and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with the Coppersmith and other workers.
• Document production processes where necessary.
• Engage in continuous learning and skill development.
• Support in troubleshooting equipment issues as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Technical training or apprenticeship in metalworking preferred

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in metalworking or construction is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Metalworking tools and machinery
• Soldering techniques

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Team collaboration

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience working with brass or bronze: Familiarity with other metals is a plus.
• Ability to operate welding equipment: Welding experience is beneficial.
