Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Public Health Specialist to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing health initiatives, conducting research, and collaborating with community stakeholders to promote public health standards. This role is pivotal in addressing health disparities and improving preventive care within underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Develop public health campaigns tailored to community needs.
• Research public health trends and best practices for intervention.
• Partner with local schools and businesses to enhance health outreach.
• Assist in grant writing to secure funding for health initiatives.
• Evaluate and report on health intervention effectiveness.
• Facilitate community discussions on health-promoting behaviours.
• Utilize social media to disseminate public health messaging.
• Oversee training and development of program staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health or Healthcare Management is an advantage

Experience

• 4+ years in community health or public health roles
