Job Description

The Dinkey Motor Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining dinkey locomotives, transporting materials and personnel in underground mines. Candidates must excel in communication, safety protocols, and teamwork within confined environments.

Responsibilities

• Run regular inspections on locomotives to confirm their working order.
• Navigate through underground tracks to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with supervisors to optimise operational efficiency.
• Document any maintenance activities or issues encountered.
• Follow established safety protocols during operations.
• Be adaptable to changing work conditions and schedules.
• Assist in the upkeep of mining equipment beyond locomotives.
• Participate in continuous education on safety and operational advancements.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent
• Certification in a relevant field preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years in a mining or similar industrial environment

Technical Skills

• Mechanical skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
