Job Description

As an Eligibility Interviewer, you'll play a crucial role in assessing individuals and families for eligibility in various social welfare programs. You'll conduct interviews, verify information, and provide guidance on available services. We're looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to community service.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the needs of clients seeking assistance and inform them of available resources.
• Manage multiple cases and maintain detailed notes and reports.
• Assist clients with completing applications and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations in the application process.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the interview process.

Requirements

Education

• Degree or diploma in Social Work, Psychology or related field
• Registration with South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years experience in social welfare services or related field

Technical Skills

• Database management software
• Microsoft Office Suite

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Experience working with diverse communities: Familiarity with the unique challenges faced by various populations.
• Fluency in additional South African languages: Proficiency in one or more languages spoken in the communities served.
