Job Description

As a Railcar Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing railcars, ensuring adherence to strict safety and quality standards. You will utilize your carpentry skills to transform raw materials into functional components that are essential for our railcars.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols while working on railcar construction.
• Utilize advanced carpentry techniques to meet production deadlines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the manufacturing process.
• Ensure all materials are sourced and prepared for construction.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality control standards.
• Document and report on project progress and any challenges faced.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate
• Trade qualification in carpentry or related field.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in carpentry or related field.

Technical Skills

• Welding and metal fabrication
• CNC operation

Soft Skills

• Communication skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of safety standards: Familiarity with safety compliance and regulations in manufacturing.
• Experience with CNC routers and lathes: Practical experience with CNC technology is a plus.
