Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Public Health Officer to join our Cape Town team. This role is pivotal in promoting health and wellness in our communities. As a Public Health Officer, you will work closely with local healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations to implement health programs that address pressing health issues. You will assess community health needs, develop strategies, and work to ensure health regulations are met while promoting healthy lifestyle choices.

Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze community health data to identify trends.
• Work with local organizations to enhance public health initiatives.
• Oversee health promotion campaigns to raise awareness.
• Ensure compliance with public health regulations and standards.
• Develop educational materials and resources for community members.
• Facilitate training for local health workers.

• Evaluate health outcomes and recommend improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health or Epidemiology is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in a public health role with project management experience
