Job Description

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) plays a vital role in supporting occupational therapists to assist patients facing physical, mental, or developmental challenges. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patients’ ability to perform daily living activities, ultimately aiming to improve their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Support the occupational therapist in developing and implementing treatment strategies.
  • Monitor and document patients’ responses to therapy.
  • Encourage patients in therapy sessions to foster their independence.
  • Provide assistance with patient mobility and the use of assistive devices.
  • Engage in team meetings to discuss patient progress and share insights.
  • Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation.
  • Adapt treatment interventions based on patient feedback and progress.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions when required.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe environment for all patients.
  • Participate in outreach programs to support community health initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Higher Education in Occupational Therapy or related field.
Experience
  • Experience working with patients of all ages and abilities.
