Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of veterinary practices, excellent surgical technique, and a passion for improving animal welfare. This role involves diagnosing various health conditions, performing surgeries, and developing treatment plans for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat animal patients with compassion and skill.
  • Perform complex surgeries and routine spay/neuter procedures.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient recovery.
  • Develop client relationships to ensure continuous care.
  • Participate in staff training and mentoring programmes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the clinic environment.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct research to promote better veterinary practices.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development.
  • Promote preventive care through client education initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • Specialisation in Surgery is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years experience in a veterinary practice
