Hot Mill Roller

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Hot Mill Roller who will be responsible for operating and controlling hot rolling mills to shape metal bars or plates according to specifications. This position requires a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to operate heavy machinery effectively.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hot rolling mills, ensuring all processes run smoothly
• Adjust machine settings based on the product being processed
• Conduct inspections of products to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Maintain machinery in good working condition through regular checks and repairs
• Implement safety measures and protocols at all times
• Work closely with production teams to meet output goals
• Log all production activity accurately and report issues promptly
• Assist in training new staff on machinery operation
• Evaluate production outcomes and propose improvements
• Maintain equipment inventory and order parts as needed

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Trade certificate as a Roller or relevant field is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel production or metal manufacturing

Technical Skills

• Operational knowledge of rolling mills
• Computer literacy

Soft Skills

• Team player
• Communication

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior experience in steel production or metal manufacturing industry: Hands-on experience in a related environment enhancing operational knowledge.
