Job Description

We're on the lookout for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Durban team. In this role, you'll be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, determining risk levels, and setting appropriate premiums. An ideal candidate will exhibit strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of the insurance market.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments on potential clients.
• Establish and maintain documentation for all underwriting policies.
• Coordinate with various departments to streamline underwriting processes.
• Participate in regular meetings with the underwriting team to share insights.
• Advise clients on how to minimize risks and improve their insurance coverage.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or Business Administration
• Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in insurance underwriting

• Underwriting Software Proficiency
• Market Knowledge

• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)

Languages

• English: Fluent
