Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our passionate team in Durban. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting functions, including bookkeeping, tax preparation, and financial analysis. The successful candidate should have advanced knowledge of accounting software and a solid understanding of financial regulations. You will report directly to the Financial Manager and collaborate with other departments to ensure the financial health of our clients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Manage financial audits and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports.
• Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
• Provide advice on financial implications and strategic suggestions.
• Facilitate training for staff on accounting systems and procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional accounting qualification (CA(SA), ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
