We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will assess and evaluate insurance applications, determining coverage limits and premiums while considering risk factors. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients have the right coverage for their needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to identify trends and patterns in claims.
• Participate in underwriting audits and reviews.
• Develop strong relationships with clients and brokers.
• Provide training and guidance to junior underwriters.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Relevant professional qualifications in underwriting

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience in the insurance industry

• Policy analysis
• Regulatory knowledge

Certifications

• Fellow of the Actuarial Society (FASSA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
