As a Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling a variety of heavy construction equipment. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heavy machinery.
Overhaul engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems as necessary.
Train junior mechanics and apprentices in best practices for maintenance and safety.
Stay updated with the latest industry standards and equipment technologies.
Collaborate with other technicians to complete complex repairs efficiently.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturing specifications.
Participate in safety training and development programs.
Assist in emergency repairs in the field when needed.
Requirements
Education
Matric or equivalent
Trade certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or related field preferred
Experience
5+ years of experience with heavy construction equipment.
