Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Civil Engineer to take on key responsibilities in project execution and management. Successful candidates will demonstrate their ability to design, develop, and monitor civil works, contributing significantly to projects that enhance the living standards of communities across the Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Draft and design plans for civil engineering structures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during project life cycles.
• Evaluate structural integrity and prepare relevant reports.
• Advise clients on best engineering practices and solutions.
• Oversee construction phases to ensure adherence to designs.
• Help resolve complex engineering challenges on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of project progress and expenditures.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate project updates with all stakeholders.
• Facilitate compliance with health and safety regulations in engineering work.
• Adjust designs and plans as needed based on project feedback.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master’s degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant civil engineering experience

Technical Skills

• Project Management Software
• Geotechnical Engineering

Certifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng)
• LEED Green Associate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic
