Job Description

As a Personal Care Aide, you will be instrumental in assisting visually impaired individuals with daily activities, ensuring they receive the support they need to live independently. Your role will involve guiding clients in their daily routines, providing emotional support, and helping with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between visually impaired individuals and their families.
• Encourage and assist clients in developing daily living skills.
• Monitor clients' physical and emotional well-being and report any concerns.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Foster a caring and respectful environment to build trust.
• Assist with basic administrative tasks related to client support.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certificate in Disability Support or Health Care Assistance is an advantage

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in healthcare or disability services

Technical Skills

• Experience with screen readers and assistive applications
• Knowledge of mobility aids and techniques

Soft Skills

• Compassionate attitude
• Strong problem-solving skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Training in advanced assistive technologies: Familiarity with various assistive technologies and their applications.
• Previous experience in community services: Working in community support or welfare services will be beneficial.
