Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Midrand team. The successful candidate will evaluate insurance applications, assess risks, and determine policy terms for various insurance products. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions to protect the company while providing competitive coverage to clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk analysis to assess eligibility for insurance policies.
• Interpret data to determine risk management strategies.
• Communicate underwriting decisions effectively to stakeholders.
• Monitor market conditions and competitors' offerings.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss underwriting challenges.
• Provide mentorship to junior underwriters and staff.
• Ensure that all underwriting documentation is complete and accurate.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant professional certification (e.g., Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter)

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting within the insurance sector
