Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Public Health Officer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have expertise in community health initiatives, data analysis, and program implementation aimed at improving public health outcomes. You will work with a diverse team to develop, implement, and evaluate health programs in the community.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute public health surveys and studies.
• Collect and interpret health-related data to inform program decisions.
• Engage with community leaders to promote health initiatives.
• Deliver health education and training to various community groups.
• Assess and monitor public health trends and challenges.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports on health initiatives.
• Foster community engagement and participation in health programs.
• Manage and support public health staff and volunteers.
• Contribute to public health research and policy development.
• Promote a culture of health and preventative care within the community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree in Health Administration is a plus

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in a public health role

• Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)

• Xhosa: Basic
