Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Dependency Therapist to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will provide vital support to clients facing addiction challenges, implementing treatment plans while fostering a safe and encouraging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate therapeutic sessions for individuals and groups focused on addiction recovery.
  • Evaluate patient needs and adapt treatment strategies accordingly.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care.
  • Develop training materials for ongoing staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards of care.
  • Encourage and motivate clients throughout their recovery journey.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about addiction treatment.
  • Document patient interactions and treatment progress in the electronic health record system.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed and act as a support system for clients.
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness and suggest necessary changes.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • Certification in Substance Abuse Counselling
Experience
  • 4+ years' experience in addiction treatment or related field
