Urban Planner

Job Description

We are seeking an Urban Planner to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for urban development and possess strong analytical skills to effectively contribute to our projects. You will work closely with city officials and community stakeholders to develop comprehensive plans ensuring sustainable growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams in the execution of urban planning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and land-use laws.
• Advise city officials on urban planning and policy matters.
• Review and critique plans submitted by external developers.
• Foster community relations and address urban development issues.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning
• Master's degree in Urban Planning is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in urban planning

Certifications

• Certified Environmental Planner (CEP)
• LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiXhosa: Conversational

• Proficiency in AutoCAD: Experience in using AutoCAD for site planning and design.
• Experience with Community Engagement Techniques: Familiarity with methods for engaging diverse community members.
