Duck Operator

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Duck Operator to manage and maintain trained ducks for various purposes, including pest control and pond cleanliness. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal husbandry and possess strong skills in monitoring duck health and behavior.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of duck care and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct health checks on ducks and oversee their feeding schedules.
• Monitor and report on duck productivity and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with the Pond Maintenance Supervisor to improve operational efficiency.
• Implement best practices for duck farming and pest control.
• Ensure safety protocols and best practices are followed at all times.
• Participate in training sessions for new staff members on duck care.
• Take part in regular team meetings to discuss operational challenges.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Relevant training or certification in agriculture is a plus

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in duck farming or animal husbandry.

Technical Skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
