Pharmacist

Job Description

We are looking for a diligent Pharmacist to manage medication dispensing and advise patients on drug therapies. In this role, you will work in a collaborative healthcare team to deliver optimal health outcomes in Durban.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ medication regimens and make recommendations for changes.
• Ensure an effective medication dispensing process is in place.
• Provide training and support to pharmacy assistants and interns.
• Recognize and manage pharmacy-related problems by utilizing clinical judgment.
• Engage in community health outreach programs to educate patients.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
• Additional qualifications in clinical pharmacy is a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a retail pharmacy environment

Technical Skills

• Medication Management
• Pharmaceutical Calculations

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Basic Life Support Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Clinical pharmacy experience: Experience in a hospital setting or with clinical pharmacy services.
• Research experience in pharmaceuticals: Ability to conduct and participate in pharmaceutical research studies.
