Job Description

We are on the lookout for a meticulous Insurance Underwriter to join our Cape Town office. You will be responsible for assessing insurance applications and determining coverage options, playing a crucial role in managing risk and ensuring that our clients receive optimal protection.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve insurance applications based on established risk criteria.
• Collaborate with the sales team to facilitate policy renewals.
• Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends.
• Prepare monthly underwriting reports for management review.
• Act as a liaison between clients and other departments to ensure satisfaction.
• Implement strategies to improve underwriting efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Risk Management
• Professional underwriting qualifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience in the insurance industry

• Underwriting Software Proficiency

Certifications

• Associate in Risk Management (ARM)
• Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)
