Mechanical Technician

Job Description

As a Mechanical Technician in Durban, you will be responsible for testing and improving mechanical systems and equipment. Your role will involve troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing machinery, ensuring that all mechanical systems are functioning efficiently. An ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical principles and hands-on experience in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance.
• Assist with the procurement of spare parts and materials.
• Work with manufacturing teams to streamline mechanical operations.
• Support the project team in mechanical design and engineering tasks.
• Prepare and submit reports on maintenance tasks and machinery status.

Requirements

Education

• N6 or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• Professional registration with ECSA is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in mechanical maintenance and repairs

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
