Mining Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Mining Engineer to join our Durban team. As a Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing mining operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficiency and safety of mining projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct the design of mining sites and processes.
• Work with mining crews to ensure adequate training and safety compliance.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and safety conditions.
• Assess the impact of mining activities on surrounding environments.
• Prepare and present project proposals and budgets to senior management.
• Create strategic plans for resource allocation.
• Facilitate collaboration among engineering and environmental teams.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and regulations.
• Implement best practices and sustainability initiatives.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation for audits and reviews.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field
• Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant mining experience
