Pump Operator

Job Description

As a Pump Operator, you will control and monitor the flow of oil from underground reservoirs to the surface. You will operate and maintain the equipment critical for oil extraction, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Control and oversee the flow of crude oil from wells.
• Perform necessary adjustments on equipment during production.
• Identify and report safety hazards in the field.
• Maintain logs of production data and equipment status.
• Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
• Ensure that all operations are executed in accordance with regulations.
• Help implement best practices in oil extraction techniques.
• Assist in training new operators on equipment and processes.
• Conduct tests on oil samples as required.

Requirements

Education

• Matric Certificate
• Relevant technical qualification in oil and gas operations

Experience

• Minimum of 2-3 years experience in the oil and gas industry.

Technical Skills

• Mechanical aptitude
• Hydraulic systems knowledge

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Effective communication

Certifications

• First Aid Certificate
• SAQCC Gas Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with computerized well monitoring systems: Familiarity with digital monitoring systems improves operational efficiency.
