Job Description

As a Tie Up Worker, you will play a vital role in the safe and secure movement of cargo, ensuring compliance with all operational and regulatory requirements. This role involves securing cargo for transportation while maintaining accurate records and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

• Utilize proper fastening techniques to secure cargo.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with cargo handling.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Assist in inventory checks and stock management.
• Provide feedback to the management for equipment and process improvements.
• Participate in regular safety assessments and training.
• Document any discrepancies in cargo handling or transport.
• Promote teamwork and support colleagues in their tasks.
• Assist in the management of hazardous materials when necessary.
• Report any workplace incidents or near misses to management.

Requirements

Education

• Valid driver’s license

Experience

• Experience working with cargo handling equipment

Technical Skills

• Forklift Operation
• Inventory Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Additional language proficiency: Ability to communicate in additional South African languages is a plus.
