Victim Witness Coordinator

Job Description

ABC Legal Services is seeking a dedicated Victim Witness Coordinator. In this role, you will work closely with legal professionals and community organizations to provide compassionate assistance and support for individuals affected by crime.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and logistical support to victims and witnesses through the legal process.
• Work closely with legal professionals and community organizations to facilitate the needs of victims.
• Help victims navigate through the court system and access necessary support services.
• Maintain up-to-date records and documents pertaining to victims and witnesses.
• Plan and conduct outreach programs to educate the community about victim support resources.
• Develop relationships with external agencies to better serve victims’ needs.
• Assist in the preparation of advocacy materials and presentations.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to improve skills relevant to victim advocacy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design strategies for effective support.
• Support victims in understanding their rights and the services available to them.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field
• Certification or training in victim advocacy or support programs is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in victim advocacy, social work, or criminal justice
