Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform ultrasound examinations on patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images and providing accurate clinical findings to healthcare professionals. Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality ultrasound examinations to produce diagnostic images.
  • Evaluate images for quality and consistency, ensuring accuracy in findings.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to discuss findings and improve imaging techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment while adhering to health regulations.
  • Educate patients on ultrasound procedures and address any concerns.
  • Document procedures thoroughly and ensure all patient records are updated.
  • Keep abreast of developments in ultrasound technology and imaging techniques.
  • Support training initiatives for junior staff and students in the department.
  • Assist in the development of departmental protocols and procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks as necessary.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Sonographer
  • Completed a recognised Sonography training program
Experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years' experience as a Staff Sonographer
