Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

As a Veterinary Surgeon at our Durban clinic, you will be at the forefront of animal health care. Your daily tasks will include conducting examinations on a variety of animals, administering vaccinations, and performing surgeries. You will also play a critical role in educating pet owners about health care best practices.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to diagnose medical conditions.
• Perform surgeries and administer anesthesia.
• Provide emergency treatment to injured animals.
• Develop treatment plans tailored to individual cases.
• Keep detailed medical records for each patient.
• Liaise with pet owners to discuss treatment options.
• Train and mentor junior veterinary staff.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine
• Postgraduate qualifications in a related field is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a clinical setting
