Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Insurance Underwriter to evaluate client insurance applications and ascertain coverage eligibility. In this role located in Durban, you will play a key part in assessing risk, creating policy terms, and fostering positive client relationships. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and possess substantial expertise in the insurance sector.

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate risk associated with insurance applications.
• Determine insurance policy terms and conditions.
• Maintain excellent communication with clients and brokers.
• Utilize analytical tools and software for risk assessment.
• Manage a portfolio of accounts and ensure satisfaction.
• Attend industry seminars and conferences for professional development.
• Review changes in underwriting policies as necessary。
• Negotiate terms with brokers and agents.
• Provide training sessions for sales personnel in underwriting processes.
• Adjust premium rates based on the underwriting evaluation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance or Risk Management

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting positions

• CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter)
