Food Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking a Food Scientist to join our dynamic team in Polokwane. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing new food products and improving existing ones. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in food science, a keen analytical mind, and an innovative approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize formulations for new food products.
• Perform lab-scale and pilot-scale testing to evaluate product stability.
• Ensure compliance with relevant food legislation and industry standards.
• Engage in cross-departmental meetings to align product strategies.
• Implement quality assurance measures throughout the product development process.
• Assist in troubleshooting production issues related to product quality.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or similar field
• PhD in Food Science is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in food technology or related field

Certifications

• USDA Food Safety Certification
