Trademark Attorney

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Trademark Attorney to join our Johannesburg office. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in intellectual property law, particularly in trademark registration, enforcement, and litigation. You will be responsible for advising clients on various trademark matters, preparing and filing applications, and representing clients in disputes.

Responsibilities

• Assess trademark infringement issues and provide proactive solutions.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure compliance with IP law.
• Engage in continuous professional development in IP law.
• Assist in brand protection initiatives on behalf of clients.
• Foster a culture of innovation and respect for IP rights within the firm.
• Supervise and train junior attorneys and paralegals in trademark law.
• Participate in industry events and represent the firm as needed.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent law degree
• LLM in Intellectual Property Law or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in IP law with a focus on trademark issues
