Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Civil Engineer to help us build and maintain vital infrastructure in Bloemfontein. You will lead project teams, provide technical guidance, and oversee implementation to achieve project objectives while adhering to budget constraints and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in developing innovative solutions for infrastructure projects.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for project challenges.
• Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications and contract agreements.
• Attend project meetings to communicate progress and adjust project scopes as needed.
• Facilitate the procurement of materials and services necessary for project execution.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree is an asset

Experience

• At least 5 years in civil engineering roles, preferably in construction

• Geotechnical Engineering
• Regulatory Compliance

• Analytical Thinking
• Problem-Solving

Certifications

• Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) registered
• LEED Accredited Professional (AP)

Languages

• Afrikaans: Conversational
• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling): Experience in using BIM software for project planning.
• Background in environmental engineering: Educated in environmental impact assessments for projects.
