SOC Analyst

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a SOC Analyst to enhance our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will monitor and analyze security alerts in real-time, respond to incidents, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our security posture.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and manage security incidents effectively.
• Document findings and developed remediation plans.
• Coordinate with external agencies for incident escalation.
• Train and educate staff on cybersecurity best practices.
• Conduct simulations and drills for incident response.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center

Technical Skills

• Threat Intelligence
• Firewall management

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Risk Management: Understanding risk management strategies in a cybersecurity context.
• Scripting Skills: Familiarity with scripting languages for automation in cybersecurity tasks.
