Dog Control Officer

Job Description

As a Dog Control Officer, you will enforce dog control regulations to maintain public safety while ensuring the humane treatment of animals. You will respond to complaints about dog-related issues and educate the public on responsible dog ownership.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas to enforce animal control laws.
• Respond to reports of stray dogs and animal abuse.
• Assist in rehoming abandoned or confiscated dogs.
• Document cases of animal abuse and neglect.
• Conduct public outreach and community education on dog safety.
• Work with law enforcement officers when necessary.
• Ensure the welfare of dogs under your care at all times.
• Assist in fundraising efforts for animal welfare initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Matric Certificate or equivalent
• Relevant diploma in animal care preferred

Experience

• 2+ years in related field, preferably in law enforcement or animal control

Certifications

• Animal First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
