Job Description

We are currently seeking an Urban Planner to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you'll develop comprehensive urban plans, engage with stakeholders, and work towards creating sustainable urban environments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community development and a keen understanding of urban planning principles.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies for new development projects.
  • Collaborate with local businesses and stakeholders to promote urban initiatives.
  • Evaluate existing urban policies and recommend updates.
  • Prepare visual presentations using GIS and other design tools.
  • Support community engagement efforts through workshops and surveys.
  • Research best practices in urban planning and sustainable development.
  • Monitor urban development projects to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Mentor junior planning staff and interns as needed.
  • Prepare budgets and project timelines for planning initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or Environmental Science
  • Master's degree is a plus
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in urban planning or sustainable development
