As a Skid Worker, you will operate machinery to move logs, lumber, and other materials throughout the sawmill. You will ensure a safe and efficient workflow while adhering to all safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Safely operate skidders and related machinery in the sawmill.
Participate in equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.
Ensure compliance with all industry safety regulations.
Assist in the training of new staff on equipment operation.
Contribute to team discussions about workflow improvements.
Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
Education
Grade 12 (Matric)
Relevant Heavy Machinery Certification
Experience
At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar operational role.
