Skid Worker

Job Description

As a Skid Worker, you will operate machinery to move logs, lumber, and other materials throughout the sawmill. You will ensure a safe and efficient workflow while adhering to all safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate skidders and related machinery in the sawmill.
• Participate in equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with all industry safety regulations.
• Assist in the training of new staff on equipment operation.
• Contribute to team discussions about workflow improvements.
• Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Relevant Heavy Machinery Certification

Experience

• At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar operational role.

Technical Skills

• Forklift Operation
• Logistics Knowledge

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Heavy Machinery Operator License

Languages

• English: Fluent
