Seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to enhance our underwriting team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assessing risks and determining policy terms, ensuring that our clients receive the best coverage while upholding company standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess the risks related to potential insurance clients.
• Utilize underwriting software to process applications efficiently.
• Develop relationships with clients to offer tailored solutions.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for management review.
• Assist in training junior underwriters and support staff.
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders regarding underwriting practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in insurance underwriting or a related field

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU)
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) - preferred

Languages
