Job Description

As a Public Safety Telecommunicator, you will be responsible for receiving emergency calls from the public and dispatching appropriate services. Your calm and collected demeanor is essential in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and log emergency calls from the public.
  • Provide support and information to police officers in the field.
  • Oversee the communication flow between various emergency services.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed in dispatching services.
  • Engage in regular training to stay updated on protocols.

Requirements

Education
  • Matric Certificate or equivalent
  • Relevant certification in emergency call handling
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in emergency call handling
