Job Description

Our organization is on the lookout for a Public Health Officer who will be responsible for assessing community health needs, developing health education initiatives, and working collaboratively with local health authorities to improve health services in Cape Town.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing health programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop educational materials and resources for community health education.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars focused on health topics.
  • Work with vulnerable populations to address specific health barriers.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure accessible health services.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles through community-based initiatives.
  • Conduct health screenings and assessments in the community.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public health best practices and guidelines.
  • Advise on matters related to public health and policy changes.
  • Engage stakeholders in health-related discussions and forums.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or relevant discipline
  • Master's in Public Health preferred

  • 5+ years working in public health or community service
