Job Description

As a Photovoltaic Testing Technician, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the optimal performance of solar systems. This role involves conducting tests and inspections, analysing data, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and performance tests on solar PV systems.
  • Compile and analyze data to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve photovoltaic system issues.
  • Ensure all installations comply with safety regulations.
  • Work with a team to enhance system performance.
  • Keep comprehensive records of maintenance and testing activities.
  • Educate junior team members about testing equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and practices.
  • Assist in the development of testing protocols and methodologies.
  • Support project managers in the delivery of solar energy projects.

Requirements

Education
  • Relevant technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • Certification in Photovoltaic (PV) testing or similar field will be advantageous.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in photovoltaic systems testing and inspections.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic system components and operation.
  • Proficient in using testing equipment and tools.
  • Familiarity with solar PV design software (e.g., PVSyst, PV*SOL).
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Prior experience in solar panel installation or maintenance.: Experience in the hands-on installation or upkeep of PV systems.
