Job Description

We are searching for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, excellent surgical skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding veterinary service to pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct examinations and assessments on various animal species.
  • Perform surgeries, including emergency and elective procedures.
  • Develop treatment protocols and discuss them with the medical team.
  • Oversee the treatment and care of hospitalized patients.
  • Effectively communicate with pet owners to address concerns.
  • Participate in training and mentoring of junior veterinary staff.
  • Monitor the inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere to ethical standards in veterinary medicine.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science or related field
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Veterinary Medicine is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in diverse veterinary practices
